Welcome to Teleios Student Ministries. What in the world does “teleios” mean, and how do you pronounce that anyway? Te-la-os is a Greek word found throughout the New Testament. There are many different ways that the word is used in the Bible, but to sum it up, “teleios” means “an awareness of life's true purpose.” When we come to see Jesus Christ for who he really is, we begin to understand what we are all doing here. Most of us spend a large majority of our existence trying to figure out what our purpose is on this earth. We pour our energy into all kinds of things to somehow better define who we are and what we were made for. Popularity, talent, intelligence, good looks, fashion, sex appeal, wealth and success are just some of the avenues that we travel down in order to find some kind of purpose. The sad thing about all of this is that these things come and go in life. Friends leave, good looks fade, fashion changes and wealth and success can disappear in a heartbeat. Where do you go next? What happens to your purpose? In Jesus Christ, your true purpose is finally realized. That voice inside of you that keeps whispering "there must be something more!" is silenced at the cross of Christ. The shocking and fulfilling truth is that you were not just made by Him, but also for Him.
In order to better understand this “teleios way of life,” we regularly reference God's Word. Our mid-week gatherings consist of fun, worship and Bible study. We are currently studying the book of James together. After all, James is the half-brother of Jesus. So who better to teach us how to live like Jesus? We welcome all Junior and Senior High students every Wednesday night from 6:30 – 8:30pm at Rancho del Rey.
