Rancho del Rey means “Ranch of the King” in Spanish. And that is what we at Rancho del Rey want to be: a group of people whose lives are being changed by Jesus and for Jesus, whom the Bible describes as “the king of all kings.”
RdR’s mission statement is “Live Jesus.” So what does this mean? Jesus’ sacrificial death not only gave us the ability to enjoy eternal life in heaven, but it gave us the gift of an intimate, daily relationship with God the Father. This relationship begins by submitting to Jesus and acknowledging his sacrifice as the only way to a restored fellowship with God. This intimacy with God grows richer and deeper as we continue to daily submit to God’s purposes for our life. Although we will never be perfect and sinless like Christ, as we study his teachings and ask for His will to be accomplished through us, we are changed. The old, selfish man fades further and further away, and we find ourselves thrilled to be the simple earthen vessels for God’s mighty Spirit. Galatians 2:20 says it best:
“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
A relationship with Jesus changes the way we act in our personal lives, our families, our church and our community and then the world. In short, Jesus changes everything about us. We are here to grow together on this amazing spiritual journey that God has set before us.
